Global HAPS Network Ltd is engaged in the development of Global HAPS Security System© and Global HAPS Network© based on High Altitude Platform Station (HAPS). The core technology is a manned stratospheric aircraft that can fly at 20km.

Global HAPS Security System© (GHSS) is the state-of-the-art airborne security system that can to monitor, track and protect strategic assets and vital installations in real-time mode. With increasing risks imminent from terrorist attacks it is important to protect vital assets and resources from falling into wrong hands for economic ransom.

GHSS will provide Real-Time Data feeds such as:-

* Simultaneous display and animation of thousands of data tracks
* Instantaneous or cumulative coverage for platforms, routes or regions
* Live data publication into enterprise and service oriented architectures
* Data standards ingestion
* Track management, archiving and playback

GHSS will also provide other services related to Imagery and Map data such as:-

* Earth imagery
* GIS data base
* Local and server based high resolution imagery
* Urban models
* Ground facility modelling
* Reporting, graphing and dynamic data displays

Global HAPS Network© (GHN) is creation of wireless communications network using HAPS technology. It can provide WiMAX network by creating wireless links with transmission masts and hotspots placed at different locations. It provides both fixed and mobile broadband links to businesses and individuals. GHN can also provide broadcasting service to mobile HDTV.

There are numerous advantages of using HAPS for communications purpose:-

* It provides a cost effective, instantaneous and high capacity network to accommodate increasing numbers of mobile subscribers to broadband services.
* It can be rapidly deployed as an Emergency Communications Network over any location to provide instant broadband access.
* It is capable of connecting people in remote areas and developing countries to broadband service, thus reducing the "Digital Divide" gap and supporting economic growth.
* It can be deployed one market at a time in response to local needs, thus reducing the financial risks normally associated with rapidly evolving technology sector.

Our strategic partners in the project are QinetiQ, University of Glamorgan and the Welsh Assembly Government. We intend to make Wales the Centre of Excellence for the HAPS technology which is a prelude to the UAV technology which will be commercially available in about 10 years time.
